Job summary

Veterans Engineering, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aretum, seeks a Biomedical Technician/Engineering Support Specialist III to deliver advanced biomedical support for healthcare facilities, ensuring equipment safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance. You will troubleshoot devices, perform preventive maintenance, and train staff on proper equipment use and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance.
• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Demonstrated competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair on various medical devices.
• Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with setup and application of test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming and periodic inspections on medical equipment or devices.
• Perform QA checks to ensure equipment conforms to manufacturer literature for components, parts, and performance.
• Install, calibrate and test medical equipment per manufacturer literature and protocols.
• Document assets and inventory according to VA procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine the source of defects.
• Schedule and conduct maintenance as required.
• Document activities using VA’s electronic system.
