Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician to act as a primary repair resource and SME for service locations. You will mentor technicians to improve competency and drive productivity and business growth.

You will respond to clinical and research equipment problems, perform repairs, calibrations, and software updates, and lead technical problem solving with advanced diagnostic skills and safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead scheduling and technical operations coordination.
• Advanced testing and troubleshooting of biomedical devices using specialized tools and software diagnostic instruments.
• Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical biomedical safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Responds to equipment problems in clinical or research areas; evaluate and correct problems, including novel solutions.
• Uses data indicators to schedule workload, scheduled maintenance, improve operations, and identify system problems/trends.
• Performs repairs and calibrations on equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance and electrical safety inspections of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
• Installs and updates medical devices including those requiring software revision.
• Acts as first line resource for technician team members and guides complex problem solving.

Summary

• Acts as primary repair resource and subject matter expert resource at the service / biomedical location. As a competent technical resource, will be expected to mentor technicians to improve the competency and value of our technicians. Expected to participate in business growth and productivity improvement initiatives.


• Leads, instructs, and assists technicians on basic and complex repairs/resolution.
