Job summary

Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services (GbILS) seeks a Senior Bioinformatician to lead sequencing analytics, pipeline development, and cloud infrastructure for national wastewater surveillance. You will work with epidemiologists, laboratorians, software engineers, and public health partners to translate sequencing data into actionable intelligence.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python, R, Bash, and Perl in Linux/HPC environments.
• Knowledge of containerization with Docker and Singularity.
• Experience with NGS tools and genome analysis software.
• Familiar with cloud computing and database design.
• Version control using Git, GitHub, or GitLab.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, validation, and maintenance of scalable bioinformatics workflows for wastewater sequencing analyses.
• Serve as SME for computational genomics and metagenomics analyses.
• Establish coding standards, documentation, and QA processes for analyses.
• Mentor junior bioinformaticians and provide technical oversight.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists and software engineers to translate needs into computational solutions.
• Develop and optimize AI/ML approaches for genomic surveillance.
