Job summary

Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services (GbILS) is seeking a Bioinformatician to support sequencing analytics, pipeline development, and data management. You will develop and maintain workflows to process high-throughput sequencing data and generate actionable public health insights, under supervision yet independently managing projects.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, work on wastewater and environmental metagenomics, and contribute to outbreak response analyses and data

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of related experience.
• Experience implementing and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines.
• Experience working with sequencing data and genomic analyses.
• Experience creating visualizations using Python or R (ggplot2).
• Experience using Git-based version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and optimize bioinformatics workflows.
• Perform quality control, assembly, annotation, and analysis of sequencing data.
• Analyze WGS and metagenomic datasets using established methods.
• Develop statistical methods to estimate pathogen abundance from data.
• Run and monitor Nextflow pipelines in HPC/cloud environments.
