Job summary

Stryker in Chandler, AZ is seeking a laboratory technician to lead testing of reprocessed medical devices, perform cleaning validation, and run materials and water quality analyses.

You will operate and calibrate instruments like spectrophotometers and GC/MS, document results, support audits, and ensure compliance with cGMP.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 5+ years of related experience in a chemistry/analytical laboratory.
  • Experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or closely related lab environment.
  • Familiarity with analytical testing methods and lab instrumentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex procedures and testing protocols.
  • Experience documenting, reviewing, and reporting laboratory results.
  • Ability to handle hazardous biological materials and regulated substances.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, quality systems, and regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead laboratory testing activities that support quality and safety of reprocessed medical devices.
  • Perform cleaning validation testing including protein, hemoglobin, and TOC analyses.
  • Conduct materials testing using FTIR and X-ray fluorescence.
  • Perform water quality testing including microbial TOC hardness and chloride analysis.
  • Prepare and inoculate products with simulated biological soils for cleaning validation.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot lab equipment (spectrophotometers, incubators, GC/MS, FTIR, X-ray fluorometers).
  • Assist with developing, validating, and documenting laboratory test methods and analytical procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret test results with accurate documentation and data integrity.
  • Support regulatory inspections and audits by preparing data and explaining procedures.
  • Ensure all lab work complies with cGMP, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to support manufacturing, quality and compliance.

Job description

What You Will Do

What You Need
  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • 5 Years of Related Experience
  • Experience working in a chemistry, analytical, quality control, quality assurance, medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or similar laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with analytical testing methods and laboratory instrumentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex procedures and testing protocols.
  • Experience accurately documenting, reviewing, and reporting laboratory results.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures and prior experience.
  • Comfortable handling hazardous biological materials, contaminated medical devices, and laboratory chemicals.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, quality systems, and regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

$29.97 - $41.45 USD Hourly
