Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, or EH&S.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct EHS experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of EHS programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.
  • Lead the site hazardous waste management program, ensuring regulatory compliance, inspection readiness, and oversight of waste handling and disposal practices.
  • Conduct routine EHS inspections and audits, including hazardous waste area inspections, chemical storage reviews, labeling assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain required EHS records, including waste determinations, manifests, inspection and training records, and regulatory reports.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, spill response assessments, near-miss reviews, deviations, and corrective actions to reduce risk.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomic assessments, chemical safety, and emergency response programs.
  • Ensure compliance in cleanrooms, laboratories, chemical storage areas, and manufacturing spaces.
  • Lead safety and environmental training programs, including hazard communication, PPE, and inspection readiness.
  • Drive 6S, safety culture, environmental compliance, and waste minimization initiatives.

Position Summary

This role leads and reinforces a safety-first culture by integrating Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), Manufacturing Engineering, and Equipment Reliability responsibilities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production operations. The position is accountable for proactively identifying risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement to protect employees, product quality, and the environment.

What you will do
  • Lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of EHS programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and internal company procedures.
  • Lead the site hazardous waste management program, ensuring regulatory compliance, inspection readiness, and effective oversight of waste handling, accumulation areas, vendor activities, manifests, records, training, and disposal practices.
  • Conduct routine EHS inspections and audits, including hazardous waste area inspections, chemical storage reviews, labeling assessments, housekeeping checks, and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain required EHS and environmental compliance records, including hazardous waste determinations, manifests, inspection records, training records, waste vendor documentation, and applicable regulatory reports.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, spill response assessments, near-miss reviews, environmental deviations, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence and reduce risk to employees, product quality, the environment, and business continuity.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomic assessments, hazard communication, chemical safety, medical surveillance, and emergency response programs.
  • Ensure compliance in specialized environments, including cleanrooms, laboratories, chemical storage areas, waste accumulation areas, and manufacturing production spaces.
  • Lead safety and environmental training programs, including hazardous waste awareness, emergency response, spill response, hazard communication, PPE, safe work practices, and inspection readiness.
  • Drive and sustain 6S, safety culture, environmental compliance, and waste minimization initiatives that promote accountability, engagement, and ownership at all levels.
  • Lead EHS committees, site safety initiatives, and global/corporate EHS actions to continuously elevate safety, compliance, and environmental performance.
Manufacturing Engineering & Production Support
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing operations with a strong emphasis on risk identification, hazard mitigation, and safe process execution.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives with safety integrated into all process improvements.
  • Assist with development, validation, and optimization of manufacturing processes, ensuring EHS risks are assessed and controlled.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for deviations, nonconformances, and safety events; implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and work instructions in compliance with cGMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and ISO 13485.
  • Ensure all processes and changes meet both quality and safety regulatory requirements.
Required
What you will need
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, or EH&S
  • Minimum of 2 years direct EHS experience
Preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and quality systems, including FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and risk reduction initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of hazardous waste management programs, including RCRA regulations, EPA generator requirements, hazardous waste storage and labeling controls, manifesting, record retention, emergency preparedness, and regulatory inspection readiness.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.

$33.52 - 47.13 USD Hourly plus bonus potential and benefits.
