Lakeside Book Company is hiring a Lead Bindery Operator in Crawfordsville, IN, to set up, adjust, and operate a range of bindery equipment. You will supervise a crew, monitor quality, output, and productivity to ensure timely delivery of finished books.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of setup, adjustment, procedures, capabilities and limitations of bindery equipment to produce finished products.
• Comprehensive knowledge of paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors for machine adjustments.
• Understanding limitations and capabilities of machines for unusual set ups or unique prints.
• Ability to use standard tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
• Skill in operating complex bindery equipment such as folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders to maintain dimensional accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery machines and related equipment to produce finished books and catalogs.
• Inspect equipment for safety and proper operation.
• May operate automatic adhesive binding machines with multiple stations.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a machine.
• Direct crew in production and monitor quality, output and productivity.
