Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking a Lead BIM Specialist to guide project teams in BIM execution and workflows, with close collaboration with project managers. This role supports electrical construction initiatives using Revit and related tools.

The ideal candidate has 5–6 years BIM modeling experience, proficiency in Revit, Autodesk, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office, and a strong desire to grow with the company. Remote or office-based work available nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in BIM, engineering or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of BIM modeling experience.
  • Experience with Revit, Autodesk, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office; Evolve a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical codes, safety codes, and contract drawings.
  • Basic project management training and understanding of the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates BIM planning strategies, daily work plans and maintains accountability from inception through completion.
  • Functions as production SME with high-level Revit knowledge to support software use and electrical tasks.
  • Completes 2D and 3D drafting tasks to support electrical construction using Revit.
  • Supports BIM standards and suggests changes to improve procedures and workflows.
  • Attends BIM coordination meetings and communicates with all stakeholders as needed.
  • Builds relationships with customers, foremen, project team, contractors, vendors and user groups.
  • Participates in electrical construction training to maintain proficiency and update skills.
  • Coaches staff and provides performance feedback regularly.

About The Position

As a Lead BIM Specialist, you will be responsible for providing both project team guidance and training related to project-specific building information modeling (BIM) execution plans and (BIM) project workflow criteria. The Lead BIM Specialist works closely with project managers and others that involves project planning as required for each specific project. The Lead BIM Specialist plays a key role in the design process and will provide direction to other team members.

Day in the life
  • Facilitates BIM, planning strategies, daily work plans and maintains accountability on assigned projects from inception through completion, in consultation with the project team and monitors quality of work product.
  • Functions as the production subject matter expert by maintaining a high user level of knowledge of Revit to support questions regarding both software use and electrical specific tasks.
  • Completes 2D and 3D drafting tasks to support electrical construction initiatives, utilizing Revit.
  • Supports and implements all BIM, prefab, technologies, and planning standards. Provides recommendations for changes to improve standards and procedures, as necessary.
  • Attends BIM coordination meetings and maintains appropriate communications with all appropriate parties as needed. Makes plan changes according to feedback received.
  • Builds strong, effective relationships with customers, foremen, project team, specialty contractors, vendors, suppliers, user groups and others that reflect and support the Company’s core values and meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Participates in electrical construction-related training to maintain a high level of proficiency and updated technical skills.
  • Provides communications, mentoring, training and teambuilding to staff and other co-workers as needed. Coaches employees and provides performance feedback regularly.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in building information modeling (BIM), engineering or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of BIM modeling experience.
  • Experience and proficiency using Revit, Autodesk, Bluebeam software and Microsoft Office. Experience using Evolve software is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code, safety codes, and best practices. Skills to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic project management training, experience, and skills. Understanding of the project life cycle.
  • A strong desire to learn more about electrical design and construction, with a commitment to being a dependable team player and growing with the Company.
