Job summary

Watlow Electric Manufacturing Company seeks an experienced Bid Manager to lead proposals for engineered process heating systems. You will own each bid from RFQ receipt to award, coordinating engineering, sales, applications, operations, supply chain and finance to deliver compliant, competitive proposals.

Responsibilities include developing pricing, managing bid schedules, and leading technical and commercial evaluations with EPC customers.

Qualifications

• _Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field._
• _7+ years in industrial sales, applications, estimating or proposals with 3+ years leading bids for engineered-to-order equipment._
• _Experience bidding to EPC contractors and major oil/gas/process operators._
• _Reading P&IDs, process datasheets and electrical schematics._
• _Strong understanding of commercial terms and contract risk._
• _Excellent writing, organization and deadline management across several bids at once._

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs/ITBs and lead go/no-go decisions based on fit, risk, capacity and margin.
• Build win strategies with sales, including customer drivers, competitor positioning and pricing approach.
• Build and manage bid schedules; run kickoff meetings and review gates.
• Break down customer specs into compliance matrices; coordinate sizing, design, and code review.
• Prepare deviations, clarifications and exceptions; assemble complete proposal packages.
• Coordinate with legal, finance, supply chain, quality and engineering for timely bids.
• Develop pricing with estimating and finance; review commercial terms and contracts.
• Lead clarification meetings, TBEs and commercial negotiations with EPC teams.
• Support bid presentations and AVL activities.
• Hand over won projects to project management with full scope and risks documented.
• Track win/loss data and maintain proposal templates and content library; report on pipeline.
