Job summary

SOLTECH in Alpharetta, GA seeks a Lead BI Engineer to own the enterprise Power BI semantic models, DAX development, RLS, and governance. This AI-first role uses Claude Code and an established multi-repository framework to deliver scalable BI solutions and Snowflake extensions for enterprise analytics.

The candidate will mentor teammates, collaborate with data engineering, and ensure high-quality AI-assisted code before deployment, driving reporting capabilities for business users.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Business Intelligence experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining Power BI semantic models.
• Advanced expertise with Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), TMDL/Model.bim, Tabular Editor.
• Experience designing and maintaining dimensional data models within a cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.
• Deep understanding of Kimball dimensional modeling methodologies.
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and administering Power BI workspaces.
• Experience preparing semantic models for Power BI Copilot through optimized metadata and relationships.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize Power BI semantic models (TMDL/Model.bim, DAX, M) and govern workspaces.
• Develop and optimize DAX measures and Power Query transformations; improve model performance.
• Design, implement, and manage Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Administer Power BI workspaces with governance, permissions, and lifecycle management.
• Keep models aligned with upstream Snowflake GOLD-layer changes and BI needs.
• Provide guidance and support to report developers and business users.
• Enhance models for Power BI Copilot through metadata and naming conventions.
