Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for the Battery Interface Team to lead the design and development of battery-to-tool interfaces, terminals, and heatsinks. You will drive in-house platform designs, support NPD projects, and ensure compatibility across battery platforms with strong CAD/FEA expertise.

You will collaborate with global teams, apply robust design methods, and mentor colleagues while traveling up to 10% to meet project needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (NX, ProE, SolidWorks) and FEA.
• GD&T proficiency and precise mechanical design.
• Strong presentation and communication skills for cross-functional work.
• Analytical thinking with experience in design evaluation and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with assembly stack-ups to ensure fitment and functionality.
• Experience with stamping, plating, and injection molding processes.
• Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical resource and mechanical engineering efforts on new products and platforms.
• Communicate clearly with technical groups and leadership levels.
• Provide engineering information to Project Leaders and Global teams for trade-off decisions.
• Manage multiple mid-to-high complexity projects as a team lead.
• Apply problem-solving methods (FEA, DOE, Fishbone, FMEA, GD&T) to resolve issues.
• Mentor others and provide technical guidance.
• Develop and maintain build-test plans across milestones.
