Job summary

Honolulu Museum of Art is seeking a Lead Barista to oversee the Coffee Bar operations, ensuring quality service and clean, efficient performance. You will train staff, schedule work, develop beverages, and assist with events while delivering warm guest experiences.

The ideal candidate brings strong coffee knowledge, excellent service skills, and a hands-on leadership style suitable for a fast-paced museum café environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of barista experience in a cafe or restaurant.

• Ability to maintain recipe execution and develop beverage specials.
• Excellent customer service and communication under pressure.
• Experience using a restaurant POS system.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Coffee Bar with focus on service quality and cleanliness.
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages, and food per HoMA standards.
• Provide warm, knowledgeable guest service and menu recommendations.
• Lead barista training on coffee preparation, equipment, and procedures.
• Delegate daily production, stocking, cleaning, and tasks to baristas.
