Job summary

Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. is seeking a Lead Barista to guide the café team, uphold presentation standards, and ensure smooth daily operations. You will train baristas, manage customer interactions, and help drive sales through excellent service and effective merchandising.

You will lead shifts, coach on beverage preparation, inventory, and safety, and collaborate with the bookfloor team to maintain a welcoming bookstore environment.

• Be flexible to cover shifts across early mornings to late evenings, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Model best practices in drink making, food prep, and café operations.
• Coach the team on merchandising, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
• Lead on visual merchandising for counter and floor fixtures; keep Café tidy.
• Improve register speed and customer conversations through coaching.
• Guide deliveries, FIFO stocking, and inventory processes with accuracy.
• Ensure cafe and bookfloor areas meet safety, hygiene, and loss prevention standards.
• Support wider cluster; adapt to working in other stores as needed.
