Job summary

HEI Hotels Inc. in Houston is seeking a Banquet Operations Lead to oversee event execution and guest experience.

You will coordinate with banquet staff, catering, and hotel departments to ensure functions are prepared, staffed, and run in line with BEOs and standards. The role involves reviewing BEOs, setting up banquet rooms, maintaining service standards, and delivering friendly, professional service under deadlines.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs through crowded banquet areas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure event details, room setups, menus, service requirements, and schedules are accurate.
• Set up banquet rooms according to BEO specifications (linens, tables, chairs, serviceware, glassware, and equipment).
• Inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness and readiness before functions.
• Coordinate banquet staff with event setups, schedule changes, and room resets.
• Communicate BEO changes to catering office, supervisors, and affected departments.
• Lead banquet servers in greeting guests and delivering courteous service.
• Serve food and beverages according to standards and event requirements.
• Break down banquet functions and reset rooms for subsequent events.
• Recap banquet checks and submit documentation to Night Audit.
