Job summary

Hy-Vee in Columbia, MO is seeking a part-time Baker to join our Bakery Department. You will prepare, bake, fry, and proof products, while leading bakery clerks and ensuring orders and ad items are accurate. You’ll greet customers, manage production timelines, and uphold sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.

We value a team-oriented attitude, strong communication, and reliability. Prior bakery experience is helpful but training is provided to fit Hy-Vee's standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; department training helpful.
• Six months to one year of related bakery experience preferred.
• Ability to apply math for daily tasks (fractions/percentages).

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service with a smile.
• Prepare, bake, fry and proof bakery items as needed.
• Lead bakery clerks and provide direction during shifts.
• Check freshness, signage, and labels for ad items.
• Schedule coverage in the Bakery Manager's absence.
• Maintain sanitation and safe operation of equipment.
