Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a dedicated Baker for our Bakery Department. You will prepare and bake products, manage production schedules, and lead bakery clerks to ensure fresh, quality items for customers throughout the day.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 months to 1 year of bakery experience, with strong customer service and teamwork skills. This is an on-site hourly position requiring attention to detail and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of similar or related bakery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers with a smile and helping with their needs.
• Set up daily production timeline and schedule, prioritizing special and future orders.
• Prepare, bake, fry, and manage items; check freshness and inventory for the day and beyond.
• Lead bakery clerks, provide guidance, and ensure department standards are met.
• Maintain sanitation and safety, and ensure correct labeling and signage.
• Collaborate with the Bakery Manager on orders and scheduling.
