Job summary

Hy-Vee in Norfolk, VA is seeking a dedicated Baker for our Bakery department. You will prepare, bake, and finish products, manage proofing, and ensure freshness and quality that meets customer expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; department training helpful.
• 6+ months up to 1 year of similar or related bakery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist with their needs.
• Prepare, bake, and fry department products; proofing as needed.
• Set up production timelines and schedules; prioritize orders.
• Lead bakery clerks and provide guidance in the absence of the Bakery Manager.
• Maintain sanitation and safe operation of bakery equipment.
• Review product freshness and rotate stock; pull expired items.
• Order supplies as directed and ensure proper labeling and signage.
