Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Baker to prepare and bake products that fill our cases and fulfill customer orders daily. You will lead bakery clerks, assist in the production schedule, and ensure quality and freshness across all items.

The role requires pride in craft, ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and strong teamwork to support store operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience; department training is helpful.
• Over six months up to one year of similar or related experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers with a smile and assisting them throughout the store.
• Prepare, bake, and fry all department products, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Lead bakery clerks, providing guidance and direction to the team.
• Review product on the shelf, ensure correct labeling and rotate stock as needed.
• Order supplies and merchandise for the department as directed by the Bakery Manager.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the bakery area.
