Job summary

HTC Global Services is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer with 8+ years of backend development experience, specializing in PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento 2. The role focuses on Magento APIs, GraphQL, REST, and event-driven architecture, partnering with the Architect and mentoring engineers.

You will work with AWS/cloud-native services, ensure performance, and lead automated testing, CI/CD, and production support in a hands-on capacity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento 2 expertise.
• Deep experience with Magento APIs, GraphQL, REST APIs, event-driven architecture.
• Experience with AWS/cloud-native services and observability.
• Strong automated testing, CI/CD, and production support experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend Magento APIs, GraphQL resolvers, modules, services, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers.
• Build REST and GraphQL APIs and service layers that decouple frontend apps from Magento.
• Integrate with catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, customer/identity, PIM, ERP, and OMS platforms.
• Develop and support event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging (RabbitMQ or similar).
• Work with AWS/cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, observability, and distributed-system troubleshooting.
• Address Magento performance, indexing, caching, and high-volume workloads.
• Build middleware/adapters for phased migrations.
• Perform automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, debugging, and production support.
• Serve as a senior hands-on technical lead and mentor engineers.
• Partner with Architect on implementation decisions.
