Job summary

Oteemo Inc. seeks an experienced Lead Software Engineer to oversee distributed backend architectures powering mission-critical APIs and data services in a cloud-hosted environment, preferably AWS.

This role blends technical leadership with strategic oversight to build secure, scalable backend systems using TypeScript and GoLang. You will drive API integration patterns across GraphQL and REST, enable secure integrations via API gateways with identity management, and lead data integration

Qualifications

• Experience leading backend teams and architectural decisions.
• Proven ability to design scalable distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of security and compliance practices.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms and modern CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead service decomposition for GraphQL subgraphs and APIs.
• Define resiliency patterns and observability strategies.
• Enforce security-by-design with TLS, OIDC/JWT, and IAM.
• Oversee compute stacks and networking for cloud deployments.
• Manage IaC deployments with CDK or Terraform.
• Drive CI/CD practices for zero-downtime deployments.
• Guide GraphQL subgraphs with Apollo Server and TS/Node.
• Lead Go services for high-throughput APIs and webhooks.
• Implement structured logging and error handling.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and security teams.
