Job summary

Oteemo Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to oversee distributed backend architectures powering mission-critical APIs and data services in a cloud-hosted environment, preferably AWS.

You will blend hands-on leadership with strategic oversight to build secure, scalable systems using TypeScript and GoLang. You will drive API patterns across GraphQL and REST, implement secure integrations via API gateways, and lead data integration to enterprise data warehouses.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
• Expert-level TypeScript and GoLang with Node.js experience.
• Hands-on with GraphQL (Apollo Server) and REST API design.
• Experience with GORM, PrismaORM or TypeORM and relational schema design.
• Proficiency in AWS/GCP/Azure; serverless, container orchestration, and IaC (CDK/Terraform).
• Strong TLS, OIDC/JWT, IAM/RBAC, and encryption services (KMS).
• Experience with distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, X-Ray), logging, metrics/alerting; familiarity with SQS/EventBridge (Pub/Sub).
• Automated pipelines with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, development, and operation of distributed backend architectures.
• Lead API integration across GraphQL and REST with secure gateways and IAM controls.
• Architect data loads to enterprise warehouses (e.g., Snowflake).
• Drive CI/CD with zero-downtime deployments and automated health checks.
• Mentor engineers and enforce security-by-design and compliance across environments.
• Collaborate with product, security, and compliance teams to meet regulatory needs.
