Job summary

Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt LLP seeks a Staff Azure Cloud Engineer to design and implement a new Azure landing zone and automated pipelines. This hands-on role requires writing code, building Terraform modules, and setting technical standards for the program.

You will own Terraform Cloud, networking, and security configurations, collaborating with IT, security, and network teams to land shared standards and automate them. Strong Azure expertise and scripting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in cloud infrastructure with production ownership.
• Azure Cloud generalist across Terraform/IaC, networking, and security.
• Hands-on Terraform module authorship and state management.
• Strong Azure networking/security: hub-spoke, NSGs, private endpoints.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes.
• Knowledge of policy-as-code approaches and security scanning.
• Strong scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Ability to define a self-service golden deployment pattern.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the Azure landing zone aligned to CAF/Pillars.
• Own Terraform Cloud setup: workspace structure, state strategy.
• Own networking and firewall config: hub-spoke, NSGs, DNS, private endpoints.
• Codify standards into automation and pipelines.
• Establish policy-as-code guardrails for automated governance.
• Build the CI/CD pipeline for infrastructure changes with gating.
• Set up security and observability baselines (Defender, Log Analytics, Policy).
• Coordinate Entra ID architecture with security and network teams.
• Define a self-service deployment pattern for app teams.
