Job summary

OpenTalent seeks a Developer with AWS serverless expertise to join our engineering team in Tempe. The role centers on building scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript, with Python or Java as a plus, and leveraging Lambda, SQS, RDS, and Step Functions.

You will mentor junior developers, participate in architecture discussions, and ensure code quality, reliability and performance. Familiarity with media digital supply chains and AI-assisted development is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expertise in AWS serverless technologies: Lambda, SQS, RDS, Step Functions.
• Proficiency in TypeScript; Python or Java a plus.
• Strong knowledge of OO and functional programming.
• Experience leading technical discussions and code reviews.
• Experience building OpenSearch indexes and AI-assisted development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript on AWS serverless platforms (Lambda, SQS, RDS, Step Functions).
• Lead technical discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture and design.
• Create workflow diagrams and technical documentation for development and operations.
• Debug production issues using AWS CloudWatch logs and Datadog.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce coding best practices.
• Build OpenSearch indexes to support robust natural language search.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, code review, validation, and test generation.
• Maintain unit test coverage across services.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Understand CI/CD concepts with GitHub Actions.
