Job summary

Lincoln Financial Group is seeking an experienced architect/developer to lead the design, development, and delivery of AWS cloud-native and serverless applications. You will build RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations, while hands-on coding in Java, Node.js, and Python and ensuring secure, automated deployments.

You will also design infrastructure as code with AWS CDK/CloudFormation, drive CI/CD with GitLab, and collaborate on security, monitoring, and production support

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications.
• 2+ years of experience providing technical leadership to distributed Agile development teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless services, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, and SQS.
• Proficiency in Java, Node.js, or Python.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven integrations, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, preferably AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
• Experience developing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure deployment processes.
• Understanding of cloud security, IAM, OAuth 2.0, API authentication, and secure integration patterns.
• Experience with application monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production support.
• Ability to apply generative AI responsibly within the software development lifecycle, including validating AI-generated outputs and secure coding practices.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software development tools to accelerate code development and modernization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of AWS cloud-native and serverless applications.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Provide hands-on development using Java, Node.js, and Python with code reviews and production support.
• Design and manage infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.
• Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using GitLab with automated testing and security scans.
• Implement asynchronous processing, retries, dead-letter queues, and idempotency.
• Collaborate on secure API integrations with IAM, OAuth 2.0, and Secrets Manager.
• Drive observability and production troubleshooting using CloudWatch, Splunk, and New Relic.
• Lead architecture reviews, estimation, and planning across distributed Agile teams.
• Identify opportunities to modernize legacy apps and optimize AWS costs.
• Promote secure coding and AI-assisted development practices.
