Lincoln Financial Group is seeking a senior technical leader to drive Life Digital Delivery, defining architecture and strategy for scalable, cloud-native applications. The role focuses on modern software engineering practices, AI-enabled capabilities, and strong leadership across multiple engineering teams.

You will oversee standards, reviews, and performance while mentoring engineers and architects to deliver high-quality business outcomes in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT-related field.
• 7+ years in IT with 3+ years of leadership experience.
• 5+ years with AWS technologies (ECS, Fargate, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, Aurora PostgreSQL, Bedrock).
• 5+ years of full-stack development with Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, and TypeScript.
• 5+ years of designing and governing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and DevOps practices.
• Proven success leading multiple application development teams.
• Deep tech expertise in architecture, cloud modernization, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Significant AWS experience evidenced by certifications or extensive work.

Responsibilities

• Direct and drive on-time delivery of high-quality features while enforcing engineering standards.
• Lead technical authority for Life Digital Delivery, defining architecture and strategy.
• Develop and evolve technical standards, frameworks, and reusable assets.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, risk assessments, and quality controls.
• Maintain subject matter expertise for Life Digital applications and docs.
• Collaborate with business leaders to align solutions with business goals.
• Review and optimize resource allocation across development teams.
• Develop strategies to strengthen architecture, cloud, AI skills.
• Lead engineers, tech leads and architects with coaching and mentoring.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and engineering excellence.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Champion AI, automation, cloud-native services to improve outcomes.
• Provide leadership for complex development, integration, and production support.
• Oversee monitoring, observability, incident management, and reliability.
