Job summary

Castelion Corporation in Torrance, CA is seeking a Lead Avionics Test Engineer to own the vision, architecture, and execution of the avionics test organization as we move from prototype to production and flight operations. You will set technical direction and mentor engineers while building test infrastructure.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or related.
• Experience testing high-power subsystems, high-speed digital interfaces, actuators, or RF hardware.
• Hands-on experience building automated test equipment with measurement instruments.
• Familiarity with CAN, RS-422/485, SPI, Ethernet.
• Experience with instrumentation control and data acquisition (Python, C++, protobufs, scripting).
• Ability to lead cross-functional test integration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the avionics test org.
• Develop and execute test plans at component, subassembly, and system levels.
• Design test fixtures, HIL environments, and automated test rigs.
• Validate hardware performance across electrical, digital, mechanical, RF metrics.
• Instrument and log tests for precision and traceability.
• Lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
• Support hardware teams by feeding test results into design cycles.
• Drive qualification and environmental test campaigns (thermal, vib, EMI).
• Deploy and validate automated test equipment for boards and subsystems.
