Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Avionics Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead a hardware-in-the-loop test team supporting Hypersonics. You will guide a group of electrical engineers and manufacturing technologists, driving Agile practices, digital engineering, and cross‑functional collaboration with customers and program leadership.

You’ll mentor engineers, manage test processes, and own the Integrated Master Schedule while ensuring cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer or Manufacturing Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• 8+ years in test engineering, manufacturing, or production test environments (or Master's + 6+ years).
• Minimum 3 years in leadership/supervisory role managing technical personnel.
• Strong production test methodologies, equipment, and validation processes.
• Experience developing and implementing departmental procedures and standards.
• Ability to work full-time at Huntsville, AL with up to 25% travel; US citizen and ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Direct and develop a team of test engineers and manufacturing technologists with mentoring and performance management.
• Develop and implement departmental standards and best practices for test operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Review and approve testing methods, specifying required tests and equipment changes.
• Drive adoption of Agile methodologies and digital engineering practices using JIRA and Confluence.
• Maintain Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Microsoft Project and coordinate with scheduling team.
• Serve as primary customer interface to clarify requirements and provide progress updates.
• Lead design reviews, customer meetings, and technical sessions with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Prioritize schedules and resources based on product introduction timelines and milestones.
• Leverage cross-functional resources and manage outsourcing to optimize capability and cost.
