Job summary

Moog Inc. in Mineral Wells, TX, is seeking a Senior Avionics Systems and Flight Test Engineer to design, develop and analyze complete air vehicle avionics and lead flight-test activities onsite.

You will drive system integration, review customer requirements, and collaborate with engineering to ensure feasibility, cost, and schedule targets. Travel up to 30% and advanced avionics expertise are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering field (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum five years related avionics experience
• Knowledge of design/development processes and software/tools
• Knowledge of FAA and other certification processes including safety analysis
• Understanding of avionics systems engineering discipline
• Expert in product requirements
• Expert knowledge of requirements management tools
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30%)
• Engineering work in flight test on aircraft

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate product requirements to formulate conceptual design and architecture
• Analyze proposals for feasibility, manufacturability, cost and production time
• Support customer development and design
• Perform system/software integration to verify avionics functionality
• Develop testing applications or modify tools for integration and tests
• Support software/system development for new and legacy product lines
• Lead OASIS and EICAS configurations based on requirements and FAA rules
• System and subsystem analysis and modeling
• Support certification projects (TSO and STC)
• Coach and lead engineers on projects
• Advise management on advanced engineering applications
• Contribute to programs focused on avionics/software and flight control systems
