Job summary

Cimarron is seeking a Senior Avionics System Engineer to join our team at a rocket production facility in Cedar Park, TX. You will own the electrical architecture, guide AIT, and drive verification for spacecraft avionics.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in aerospace, strong PCB and schematic skills, Python experience, and a track record leading design teams. This is a full-time, onsite role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
• 7+ years of aerospace component development, testing, integration, or operations.
• 5+ years in analog and digital circuit design with test equipment.
• 3+ years of prototyping circuits and testing.
• 5+ years of PCB design, hardware systems design, and/or integration.
• Strong schematic capture and PCB layout skills.
• Experience with Python.
• Lead and mentor avionics design teams.
• Technical writing and SOP creation experience.
• Bachelor-level engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical architecture design, testing, and integration of avionics components.
• Support assembly, integration, test, launch, and on-orbit operations.
• Write and execute vehicle assembly procedures and electrical validation processes.
• Lead design and development of avionics systems for current and future spacecraft.
• Develop verification plans and coordinate with engineers and technicians to execute.
