Job summary

Cimarron Software Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Avionics System Engineer to own the design, testing, and integration of spacecraft avionics at our Cedar Park, TX facility. You will lead end-to-end architecture decisions and collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, and test teams to deliver high-performance hardware.

The role requires 7+ years in aerospace, strong PCB layout and design skills, and proficiency with Python, C/C++, and Altium. Onsite work only; U.S.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in aerospace component development, testing, integration, or operations.
• 5+ years in electrical engineering with analog and digital circuit design.
• 3+ years hands-on experience prototyping circuits and testing.
• 5+ years PCB design, hardware systems design, and/or integration.
• Experience with Python and end-to-end design verification.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical architecture design, testing, and integration of avionics on spacecraft.
• Support AIT, launch integration, and on-orbit operations.
• Write and execute assembly procedures and functional validation.
• Lead design and development of avionics systems for current and future spacecraft.
• Develop test plans and coordinate with engineers to execute them.
• Create design verification and acceptance test plans.
• Coordinate with systems, mechanical, software, and test engineering.
• Schematic capture, PCB layout, rapid prototyping, and component selection.
