Job summary

AscendArc is seeking an experienced avionics leader to architect and own C&DH systems for a satellite platform. You will drive hardware design, interface control, and qualification for high‑reliability space environments, from requirements through test and bring‑up.

The role requires hands‑on PCB/EEE part selection, extensive collaboration with software, systems, and power teams, and coordination across procurement and supplier reviews.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; 8+ years, including spacecraft or other high‑reliability avionics.
• Hands‑on board design from requirements through schematic, analysis, bring‑up and test.

Responsibilities

• Lead avionics and C&DH within the Electrical Engineering team.
• Architect avionics and C&DH subsystem, including buy-vs-build decisions.
• Own avionics and C&DH requirements, I/O, channel allocation, and interface control documents.
• Design in‑house electronics, topology, component selection, schematics, and circuit analysis.
• Perform worst-case and derating analysis; select EEE parts for a 15-year GEO mission.
• Support PCB layout, board bring‑up, debugging, and testing.
• Own procurement of externally sourced units: specs, SOWs, evaluations, supplier reviews.
• Partner with Flight Software, Systems Eng, Power, Battery, and other leads.
• Own hardware interfaces across power, grounding, bonding, protection, harness, and spacecraft integration.
• Work within Systems Engineering baseline for requirements, interfaces, budgets, and avionics architecture decisions.
