Job summary

Tropic Ocean Airways LLC is seeking an Assistant Director of Maintenance in Fort Lauderdale to lead maintenance operations for the Part 135 fleet. You will collaborate with the Director of Maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance programs across the aircraft fleet.

The role requires strong leadership, aviation maintenance expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while maintaining high safety and regulatory standards. FAA Part 135 experience is essential.

Qualifications

FAA A&P certificate required.
Minimum 7 years of progressive aircraft maintenance experience.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory/management experience in Part 135 or equivalent.
Experience with Cessna Caravan 208B and Garmin G1000 avionics.
Knowledge of FAA Part 135 regulations and maintenance programs.
Experience leading maintenance teams up to 25 personnel.

Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Maintenance in managing all aircraft maintenance activities per FAA Part 135.
Supervise and mentor maintenance personnel and support staff (up to 25).
Plan and coordinate scheduled inspections, PM, repairs, and return-to-service.
Ensure airworthiness and minimize downtime.
Monitor compliance with regulations, ADs, SBs, and procedures.
Lead audits, inspections, and documentation reviews for quality control.
Collaborate across departments to optimize fleet reliability.
Support budgeting, inventory, tooling, and procurement.
