Job summary

Visual Sound in Broomall, PA seeks a Lead AV Technician to build racks, install projectors, screens, and flat panels, and support fiber optics, cabling, and mounting of AV devices. You will read CAD prints, assist with rack wiring, configure Crestron/Extron/AMX/Biamp control systems, handle Cisco networking, and perform installations on schedule.

Requires at least 3 years of AV installation experience, an associate degree or equivalent, CTS/CTS-I preferred, strong communication and problem

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience installing audio-visual equipment.
• Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• CTS and/or CTS-I certification preferred.
• Knowledge installing and configuring Dolby audio systems (highly preferred).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Installing audio video products and components as specified by blueprints and to specifications.
• Pulling cable, installing connectors, projector mounting/hanging (ceiling mounts) and metal fabrication.
• Loading, configuration, and troubleshooting of Crestron, Extron, AMX and Biamp control systems.
• Assisting with mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring.
• Cisco networking including routers, switches and configuring wireless networks.
• Reading CAD generated prints and building blueprints and riser diagrams.
• Assisting with and performing installation tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner.
• Performing basic math functions.
• Lifting up to 60 lbs., in addition to climbing, crawling, and raising items overhead.
• Performing out of town travel when necessary.

Description

The Lead AV Technician is responsible for building racks and installating projectors, screens, & flat panels. This role is also involved with installing other AV equipment including, cabling fiber optics, racking, and mounting AV devices/control units.

Position Requirements

• At least (3) years of experience installing audio-visual equipment including video panels, speakers, racks, microphones, AV cabling and wiring.
• Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least two years of experience in equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CTS and/or CTS-I certification preferred
• Knowledge installing and configuring Dolby audio systems (highly preferred).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
