Job summary

Visual Sound Inc in Broomall, PA is seeking a Lead AV Technician who will build racks and install projectors, screens, and flat panels. You will handle AV cabling, fiber, racking and mounting, ensuring installations meet blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities include loading, configuring and troubleshooting Crestron, Extron, AMX and Biamp control systems; basic rack wiring, Cisco networking, reading CAD prints, and occasional out-of-town travel.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience installing audio-visual equipment and related cabling.
• Associates degree or equivalent education; CTS/CTS-I certification preferred.
• Dolby audio knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

DESCRIPTION:

The Lead AV Technician is mainly responsible for building racks and installating projectors, screens, & flat panels. This role is also involved with installing other AV equipment including, cabling fiber optics, racking, and mounting AV devices/control units.

Essential Duties:

• Installing audio video products and components as specified by blueprints and to specifications.
• Pulling cable, installing connectors, projector mounting/hanging (ceiling mounts) and metal fabrication.
• Loading, configuration, and troubleshooting of Crestron, Extron, AMX and Biamp control systems.
• Assisting with mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring.
• Cisco networking including routers, switches and configuring wireless networks.
• Reading CAD generated prints and building blueprints and riser diagrams.
• Assisting with and performing installation tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner.
• Performing basic math functions.
• Lifting up to 60 lbs., in addition to climbing, crawling, and raising items overhead.
• Performing out of town travel when necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• At least (3) years of experience installing audio-visual equipment including video panels, speakers, racks, microphones, AV cabling and wiring.
• Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least two years of experience in equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CTS and/or CTS-I certification preferred
• Knowledge installing and configuring Dolby audio systems (highly preferred).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
