Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a Lead AV Technical Specialist to support the Simulation and Clinical Skills Center, ensuring reliable AV, recording, and data integrity for OSCEs and clinical activities.

You will manage SimIQ, support faculty and students, and collaborate with IT and academic stakeholders to enhance education technologies. The role requires hands-on expertise, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced academic environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience required.
  • Experience supporting audiovisual, simulation, or instructional technologies in higher education, healthcare, or enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and AV systems in real-time, user-facing settings.
  • Strong technical communication skills, including clear documentation and effective user training.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and provide reliable support during live or time-sensitive activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the SimulationIQ (SimIQ) application, including user provisioning and system configuration.
  • Provide technical support for simulation and education technologies for faculty, students, and staff.
  • Support and operate control room technologies during OSCEs and clinical activities.
  • Ensure readiness of all systems using routine testing and maintenance.
  • Manage video recording, storage, and QA processes for content integrity.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and training resources.
  • Deliver user training and guidance to promote adoption of the technologies.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
