Job summary

Glydways in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Lead Technician to support the build, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of vehicle and hardware test platforms. You will be a primary technical resource for the technician team, coordinating day-to-day work and ensuring quality standards.

Qualifications

• Lead, coordinate and direct other technicians.
• Review work for quality against drawings, procedures and engineering requirements.
• Prioritize tasks and drive technical issues through resolution.
• Strong communication with engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with general shop/tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron).
• Experience building, troubleshooting PCs/PCBs and related systems.
• Able to lift 25–50 lb and travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day technical activities of technicians for test platforms, vehicles, lab equipment, and hardware.
• Coordinate technician workloads, establish priorities, assign work, and track tasks to completion.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and mentorship to technicians.
• Serve as primary point of contact between technicians and engineering teams for execution and escalation.
• Support and maintain configuration control of various test platform configurations and generations.
• Use lab tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, and diagnostic equipment.
• Assemble hardware to enable Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) testing and integrate components into server racks.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair test hardware and equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting for complex hardware, electrical, networking, and system-level issues.
• Build cable harnesses from schematics and drawings, review harness builds for standards.
• Collaborate with engineering on hardware changes, retrofits, and upgrades.
• Assist with engineering/marketing demos, including setup and support.
• Prepare and stage technicians for tests and demonstrations.
