Job summary

Danfoss in Minneapolis is seeking a Lead Engineer to design autonomous control systems for heavy off-highway equipment, including tractors, mining trucks, and construction vehicles. You will lead end-to-end development using ROS2, C/C++, and embedded Danfoss PLUS+1, deploy at customer sites, and ensure safety standards while collaborating across teams to deliver reliable, market-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of robotics development using ROS2 in Linux environments.
• Strong C/C++ software engineering skills for real-time control.
• Experience with sensor fusion, perception, and localization.
• Knowledge of functional safety standards and safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of autonomous control systems for heavy off-highway vehicles using ROS2 and C/C++.
• Design, test, and optimize algorithms for sensor fusion, path planning, and navigation with LiDAR, cameras, GNSS/GPS.
• Travel to customer sites to deploy, tune, and validate autonomous solutions on real-world machinery.
• Bridge software and hardware with embedded control solutions on the PLUS+1 platform.
• Lead rigorous testing and adherence to functional safety standards like ISO 13849.
