Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA seeks a Support Systems Engineering Lead for the Thunder team. You will architect and lead the design and development of a broad Support System covering deployment, supply, operations and maintenance to meet end-user needs.

Lead a hands-on engineering team, collaborate with customer stakeholders to capture operational requirements, define interfaces for fueling and charging, and advance maintenance processes and training with new technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or aviation related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Aviation, Aerospace or product development/design environments including technology maturation.
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering and its benefits/limitations.
• Experience in operational environments with logistics, maintenance, or training roles including fielded systems.
• Focus on safety in design and operation.
• Strong bias for action and high ownership in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to break complex problems into manageable parts.
• Experience with high voltage systems/batteries and/or hybrid powertrains.
• Defense industry or military service background desirable.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect, plan, and lead the design and development of a broad Support System (deployment, supply, operations and maintenance).
• Hire, develop, and grow a hands-on Engineering team focused on practical Support System solutions.
• Collaborate with customer stakeholders to ensure operational needs are understood.
• Own decomposition activities to influence design of the Air Vehicle and Mission Systems.
• Design, fabricate and test Mission System transport and handling equipment for rapid deployment.
• Identify standards and interfaces for supply systems (fueling/charging) as design inputs.
• Leverage emerging technologies to develop maintenance systems, processes and training.
• Collaborate across the Division to drive a Common Support System look and feel.
