Job summary

Main Street Auto in Orlando is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician to drive diagnostics and repairs while mentoring a team of technicians. You will oversee repair scheduling, collaborate on estimates, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with engines, electrical and mechanical systems, plus strong leadership and communication skills to ensure top-tier customer service and workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as an Automotive Technician with focus on diagnostics and repairs.
  • Proven leadership skills to guide and motivate a team of technicians.
  • Deep knowledge of automotive systems including electrical, mechanical, and engines.
  • Proficient with diagnostic equipment, tools, and software.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities for complex vehicle issues.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills for task prioritization.
  • Up-to-date safety protocols and regulations knowledge.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication and customer service to interact with customers and team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex diagnostic procedures and repairs on a wide range of vehicles (electrical, mechanical, engine).
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians, providing guidance and training for efficient workflow and quality workmanship.
  • Oversee scheduling and assignment of repair jobs for optimal resource use and timely completion.
  • Collaborate with service advisor to provide accurate repair estimates, parts and labor needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations in the shop environment.
  • Stay current with latest automotive technology and repair techniques through ongoing training.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and software to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used in the shop management system.
  • Maintain organized work environment and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing concerns and explaining repairs.
