United States Postal Service in Sterling, VA is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician to supervise lower level technicians and perform complex vehicle repairs in a USPS vehicle maintenance facility. The role requires a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised driving experience in the U.S.

Formación

• Must have a valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger.
• Must be able to communicate in and understand English.
• Postal Service employment requires medical, general eligibility and background checks.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnoses operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles and performs checks on engines and major systems.
• Performs computerized and electronic diagnostic tests and interprets trouble codes.
• Conducts road tests before and after maintenance and annotates vehicle problems on work orders.
• Troubleshoots malfunctioning vehicles and identifies faulty parts.
• Conducts vehicle inspections and assigns/ schedules work for maintenance staff.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Provides guidance to mechanics on complex repairs and use of diagnostic equipment.
• Maintains vehicle maintenance records including labor hours and repairs.
• Assists in training personnel in repairs and diagnostic procedures.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
