Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking an Automotive Systems Engineer in Dearborn, MI to lead architecture and development of next-generation vehicle features for a leading global automotive OEM. This role spans concept to production with MBSE as a core methodology.

Responsibilities include translating needs into system requirements, creating DFMEAs and system diagrams, and conducting safety and cybersecurity assessments while supporting cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of Automotive Systems Engineering experience and 3 years in embedded systems.
• Experience writing engineering requirements, DFMEA, and System Boundary Diagrams; knowledge of the V-Model.
• Experience developing vehicle features from concept through production; strong vehicle electrical systems knowledge including CAN.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer and business needs into system requirements and specifications.
• Develop system architectures and define feature behavior across software, electrical, mechanical, and vehicle integration teams.
• Write engineering requirements and build DFMEAs and System Boundary Diagrams.
• Conduct functional safety and cybersecurity assessments and support MBSE-based software implementation.
