Job summary

Advantage Technical in Dearborn, MI seeks an Automotive Systems Engineer to lead architecture and development of next-generation vehicle features for a major OEM. This role spans concept through production and emphasizes ownership of features rather than testing.

You will work across electrical, software, mechanical and vehicle integration teams, applying MBSE, DFMEAs, and System Boundary Diagrams to define requirements and verification plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of Automotive Systems Engineering experience and 3 years supporting complex embedded systems.
  • Experience writing engineering requirements and functional specifications, DFMEAs and System Boundary Diagrams, and strong understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer and business needs into system requirements, functional specifications, and logical architectures.
  • Develop system architectures and define feature behavior across software, electrical, mechanical, and vehicle integration teams.
  • Write engineering requirements and build System Boundary Diagrams, DFMEAs, and verification plans.
  • Conduct functional safety and cybersecurity assessments and support software implementation using MBSE methodologies.
