Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement automated testing frameworks using Python. You will lead a team of testers and collaborate with software and hardware engineers to ensure high-quality spaceflight software.

The role requires 3+ years in test automation, a BS in CS/engineering, and familiarity with SDLC, Git, and CI/CD. Occasional second-shift testing and up to 15% travel are expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in spacecraft/satellite test development, automation and/or execution, software development, hardware ownership, or hardware qualification/testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in test automation using Python.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand project and testing requirements.
• Implement testing strategies to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Analyze test results, identify trends, and report findings to development teams.
• Continuously improve test automation processes and frameworks.
• Ensure robust test coverage across all application components.
• Periodically support testing events on second shift.
