Job summary

Jabil in St. Petersburg, Florida is seeking a Lead Automation Project Engineer to act as SME for automated assembly, test, and packaging systems. You will interact with suppliers, specify and purchase equipment, and guide OEMs through quotes and launches.

The role requires expertise in CAD-based schematics, PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Mitsubishi) and FANUC robotics, with experience in FDA-compliant automation and Kaizen-driven improvements. Some travel is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Mechatronics) and 8 years' related experience.
8 years' experience in FMEA, EHS risk assessments, and mitigation.
Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Mitsubishi) and FANUC robotics.
Alternative: master's/PhD with related experience or 3 years extra experience.

Responsibilities

Lead automation projects from quote to launch.
Interact with automation suppliers for equipment and tooling.
Specify and purchase equipment, tooling and fixtures for new/existing processes.
Lead and quote automation equipment; train automation teams.
