Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment. The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and adherence to procedures, with mentoring duties for Apprentices.

You will design and optimize PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, and SCADA interfaces, while partnering with operations and engineering teams to improve MHE performance and deliver projects.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or knowledge equivalent to a 4-year degree.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor less experienced automation engineers.
• Proficiency in CMMS use, troubleshooting, and coordinating maintenance activities with multiple stakeholders.
• Advanced verbal and written English skills for policy interpretation and communication.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to adapt and improve.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site technical expert in automation control systems and mentor Apprentices.
• Design, develop, implement, and optimize control systems and software; troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and networks.
• Adhere to Automation Change Management procedures and documentation standards.
• Partner with operations, engineering, and support to optimize MHE systems and deliver projects.
• Monitor MHE metrics, analyze performance issues, and lead local and remote troubleshooting.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement for cost savings.
• Communicate issues, timelines, and workarounds to leadership and stakeholders.
