Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment. You will lead projects, troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers, and collaborate across teams to optimize MHE systems.

Ideal candidates have PLC/SCADA experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. The role is on-site in Fort Myers with varied shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent
• Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor automation engineers
• Advanced verbal and written English skills
• Strong problem-solving mindset and continuous improvement
• Willingness to work varied shifts including nights and holidays

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and optimize automation control systems for conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print-and-apply, and SCADA devices
• Mentor Apprentices to meet safety and technical standards
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks
• Adhere to Automation Change Management and documentation procedures
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support teams to optimize MHE systems
• Lead root cause analysis and drive cost-saving improvements
• Communicate timelines and issues to leadership and stakeholders
