Job summary

JLL is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment. You will mentor apprentices, lead maintenance activities, and optimize MHE systems with operations and support teams.

The role requires PLC/SCADA expertise, RSLogix5000 Studio and FT View proficiency, and a strong problem-solving mindset. Flexibility for varied shifts, including nights and weekends, is expected.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lead and mentor automation engineers.
• Proficiency with CMMS, troubleshooting, and coordinating maintenance with stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written English; interpret and communicate policies.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and continuous improvement.
• Flexible to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and optimize control systems and software.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
• Document changes per Automation Change Management procedures.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support teams to optimize MHE systems.
• Monitor metrics, analyze issues, and lead remote/local troubleshooting.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive cost-saving improvements.
• Communicate issues, timelines, and workarounds to leadership.
