Bank of America is seeking an automation-focused software engineer in the United States to lead test automation efforts for ETL, data validation, and data pipelines. You will bridge Development and Quality Engineering, ensuring automated validation across UI, API, and backend layers while integrating with CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with Mainframe, DataStage, IIDR/CDC, Kafka, and large-scale data integration, driving quality and observability across high-volume systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable software engineering, test automation, data engineering, or quality engineering experience.
• Experience developing and supporting ETL/DataStage solutions, real-time data replication platforms, and large-scale data integration processes, with a strong focus on automation and quality engineering.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks or suites for Unit, Feature, Integrated, regression and data validation testing.
• Ability to own automated source-to-target validation, transformation accuracy, data integrity, reconciliation, and consistency across high-volume replication and streaming platforms.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and the integration of automated tests, quality gates, and results reporting into delivery pipelines.
• Hands-on engineering expertise across Mainframe, DataStage, IIDR/CDC, and Kafka-based data pipelines, including development, troubleshooting, automated testing, and validation.
• Strong analytical, coding, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Creates and optimizes test processes including defect management and reporting
• Creates and optimizes test automation frameworks and use of test automation tools
• Leads test planning for complex features that span across the platform or multiple teams
• Creates a test automation strategy across the application stack (UI, API, and Backend, etc.)
• Ensures alignment and sign off for test cases from business and other stakeholders
• Manages test execution and resolves, communicates or escalates any issues that may result in test plan variance
• Designs test data and ensure data compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments
