Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an automation-focused software engineer with ETL/Data Engineering, Mainframe, and real-time data replication experience to join our Quality Engineering team. You will help design and implement automated validation frameworks, data integrity checks, and end-to-end test strategies across UI, API, and backend systems.

You will partner with development and QA teams to ensure quality gates, drive test automation, and support data services in high-volume streaming platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable software engineering, test automation, data engineering, or quality engineering experience.
• Experience developing and supporting ETL/DataStage solutions, real-time data replication platforms, and large-scale data integration processes, with a strong focus on automation and quality engineering.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks or suites for Unit, Feature, Integrated, regression and data validation testing.
• Ability to own automated source-to-target validation, transformation accuracy, data integrity, reconciliation, and consistency across high-volume replication and streaming platforms.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and the integration of automated tests, quality gates, and results reporting into delivery pipelines.
• Hands-on engineering expertise across Mainframe, DataStage, IIDR/CDC, and Kafka-based data pipelines, including development, troubleshooting, automated testing, and validation.
• Strong analytical, coding, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• ETL, Kafka, Mainframe, IIDR, Raft, Java, Co-Pilot, Octane, Litmus

Responsibilities

• Creates and optimizes test processes including defect management and reporting
• Creates and optimizes test automation frameworks and use of test automation tools
• Leads test planning for complex features that span across the platform or multiple teams
• Creates a test automation strategy across the application stack (UI, API, and Backend, etc.)
• Ensures alignment and sign off for test cases from business and other stakeholders
• Manages test execution and resolves, communicates or escalates any issues that may result in test plan variance
• Designs test data and ensure data compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments
