Job summary

The Haskell Company is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to lead design and execution of automation projects. You will coordinate with discipline leads, vendors, and customers to deliver complete automation solutions from concept through startup.

Responsibilities include budgeting, design reviews, and developing PLC/HMI programs, while managing a small team and traveling to sites as needed. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience required; 8–10 years of industry-related experience.
• P.E. license preferred/encouraged.
• Ability to develop drawings using appropriate design software and provide verbal instructions to define design requirements.
• Experience in PLC/HMI/SCADA/Control Panel Design knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for automation projects across multiple disciplines and vendors.
• Develop control system basis of design and network architectures.
• Prepare scopes of work, BOMs, specifications, and project documents.
• Design power and control systems for packaging applications and startups.
• Supervise staff and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate with customers, project leadership, and startup teams.
• Travel up to 40% for installations and onsite startup.
